The Workers’ Educational Association has awarded the contract to create, install and support a new IT infrastructure to Bluecube Technology Solutions. The firm, based at Wolverton Mill, beat off rival bids from more than 40 providers across the UK.
Bluecube used its experience gained from working with the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme and The Big Issue to create the winning bid.
Chief executive James Hawker (pictured) said: “Winning the contract with WEA is something we are very proud of. It is a real indictment of our capabilities.
We definitely connected with WEA’s values and ethos, which really drove us during the tendering process. The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the Big Issue have been valued clients for some time and we have learned a lot from them.”
The bespoke new IT infrastructure is now live, with Bluecube providing day-to-day system and user support. Bluecube has also recruited several of WEA’s internal IT team to service the contract.
WEA director of communications and marketing John Nixon said: “We wanted to find a company that really demonstrated a desire to work with us and have an understanding of our aims and values.”
