Vauxhall creates 250 new jobs at its Luton factory

The extra manpower is required as Vauxhall prepares to increase output of the new Vivaro van.

The jobs at Luton are among a total 550 new positions announced by Vauxhall, which has created 300 new jobs at its Ellesmere Port factory on Merseyside, where it makes the new Astra car.

Vauxhall UK chairman and managing director Tim Tozer said: “This is great news for Vauxhall and for British manufacturing.

“Both of our UK manufacturing plants have won long contracts with all-new product and ,as the business strengthens, we now need to take on more people to build these exciting new Vauxhalls.”
