Rugby World Cup… less than 100 days away

Plans are on track in Milton Keynes to deliver a celebration of rugby in less than 100 days’ time, and after record levels of demand and over two million tickets sold to date, England 2015 is set to become the biggest Rugby World Cup ever.

With Rugby World Cup 2015 just around the corner, there is plenty to look forward to over the coming months.

A Trophy Tour of the Web Ellis Cup around the UK and Ireland visits Milton Keynes on August 20-21. There will be an official Fanzone in Campbell Park, a nationwide Festival of Rugby and much more including a free outdoor Clash of Drums spectacular on the streets of Milton Keynes.

Tickets are on sale now for a number of Rugby World Cup 2015 matches including all three matches at stadiummk. Visit the official tickets website tickets.rugbyworldcup.com

As part of England Rugby 2015’s Engage Ticketing Programme, every Host City has been allocated 500 tickets to pass onto the local community. The aim of this programme is to encourage participation and support the game of rugby by giving groups or individuals the chance to watch the world’s best teams in action.

Milton Keynes Council will be contacting local groups and organisations in Milton Keynes over the coming weeks to offer the opportunity to be a part of this programme.

Whether its schools, clubs, or community groups these are for enthusiastic players and supporters to help with the growth and development of the game in the area.

Council deputy leader Cllr Hannah O’Neill said "Rugby World Cup 2015 is an opportunity for people in Milton Keynes to be part of the third largest sporting event in the world.

“There is so much to look forward to with sporting and cultural events for all to enjoy in the city and at Campbell Park as well as a host of clubs and communities embracing the tournament.

“Planning with partners is going very well and we are pulling on the experience of hosting other major events to ensure Rugby World Cup 2015 in Milton Keynes will be a truly unforgettable experience”.
