Lights… camera… action

Jardine Michelson Public Relations has set up a new arm to its operation specialising in short films for business as an alternative means to put across corporate communication and sales information.

Managing director Carolyn Jardine said: “The beauty of them is that they do not have to be expensive. Many can now be made and distributed for the same price as a brochure.

“These sorts of corporate film production were once only available to the big companies with their large marketing budgets, but not now. They are more accessible to small and medium sized enterprises too.”

The films are planned, made and managed in-house by the Jardine Michelson broadcast team headed by Simon Garrett, a broadcaster and producer with more than 20 years experience.

Jardine Michelson can also tailor-make an electronic news release. A news story film of their own means a business won’t have to rely on a TV station sending their own camera crew. Jardine Michelson can record an event, product launch or announcement with news value, skilfully edit it and then send it “down the line” to TV news desks ready for broadcast.

Clients including thecentre:mk, Bedfordia Group, new hotel company Ramcore Hotels, and Dream Car Hire have already used the new Jardine Michelson Communications service. The company has also placed news release footage with both Central and Anglia ITV news programmes.

Ramcore hotels managing director Ewan Campbell commissioned a film from Jardine Michelson Public Relations for its launch in November last year. He said: “Considering we are such a young company, the benefits we have seen have far exceeded our expectations.”

Bedfordia Group marketing manager Anita Smith commissioned a film that is being shown to employees joining the company as part of their induction training.

She said: “This ten-minute film has done much to help new employees to get a real feel for the organisation.”
