Both areas’ Chambers of Commerce are calling on organisations – whether they are Chamber members or not – to complete their Quarterly Economic Surveys.
The aim is to obtain a clear view of the local economy. A Milton Keynes Chamber spokesman said: “The results from the online survey are crucial to generating an understanding among local authorities and decision-makers of the conditions that companies are trading in.”
They are fed to the British Chamber of Commerce along with the other Chambers nationwide to gain a national picture of the economy.
The national QES – the largest business survey of its kind in the UK – is used and quoted by the media, politicians and economists. It is also used by the Bank of England and can influence the Monetary Policy Committee on interest rate decisions.
