Conference focuses on international law

The World Trade Center Milton Keynes, Geoffrey Leaver, and Legal Counsel International, an alliance of lawyers in 15 countries, will host the event, focusing on international legal issues.

Nine of the lawyers in the alliance, representing almost all the major economies, have agreed to attend to discuss legal and trade issues in respect of their own countries. Those countries are USA, Russia, China, India, Germany, France, Canada, Spain and the Netherlands.

Milton Keynes-based Geoffrey Leaver Solicitors is the UK representative of Legal Counsel International.

Each are countries with which UK businesses are increasingly expanding trade. The visiting lawyers at the LCI conference on November 28 include Akana Ma, international partner in US West Coast firm Ater Wynne and a specialist in issues involving trade with China. Thierry Garby, of Paris, is an expert in European arbitration and mediation law. Enrique Batalla of Spain is a leading speaker in respect of intellectual property.

The World Trade Center Milton Keynes is to send details and invitations to local Chambers of Commerce members in North Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.
