University set to start construction on £44m projects

The premises are required to accommodate existing teaching requirements while the two centres are built.

Work is set to begin shortly on the projects, funding having been secured in collaboration with aerospace giants Rolls-Royce and Airbus, the Higher education Funding Council for England and the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership.

The deal takes lettings on the technology park over the past year past 36,000 sq ft. Occupancy is now at a record high of 95 per cent.

Rupert Wood, regional director at technology park owner and manager St. Modwen said that interest in Cranfield University Technology Park reflected increased business confidence in the region.

“The last 12 months have seen a dramatic increase in demand for offices around Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire, in line with improved economic confidence and businesses’ growth plans,” he added.

“This latest lettings to Cranfield University is a great endorsement for the Tech Park as a quality business and learning environment.”
