Jan Flawn, managing director of Milton Keynes-based P J Care, received the award for Independent Care Operator at the National Care Awards 2008, held at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel.

The judges said that Jan had demonstrated great passion, drive, tenacity and business acumen in developing a high quality specialised group of nursing home companies.
