Forum to debate the future of transport

The future of transport in the city and further afield is the focus of a specialist discussion event taking place later this month.

Biztech technology forum and University Campus Milton Keynes hosts the latest in their series of Ask the Expert debates to explore the implications of Intelligent Mobility.

The event will be held at The Imovation Centre at the Transport Systems Catapult in The Pinnacle, Central Milton Keynes, on March 26.

Intelligent Mobility involves the use of real time data to move people and goods around in the best possible way – by air, land and sea – and is a key component of the Smart Cities movement.

Biztech chairman Fredi Nonyelu  said: “Milton Keynes is developing a reputation as a world leader in the development of Future Cities.

“The city is predicted to grow in terms of population and traffic movements and if we are to prevent Milton Keynes becoming gridlocked we will have to use technology to make it work.

“The use of Intelligent Mobility is a top priority to keeping the city’s competitive advantage.”

The event will include a number of demonstrations of intelligent mobility, including air traffic over London, current motorway flows and other apps.

There will also be a cutting edge display of sentiment analysis, showing people’s experience of their journeys. These will be displayed on both a map and a Twitter wall within the Transport Systems Catapult.

Tickets are £15 for Biztech members, £20 for non members and free for students. To book, visit http://goo.gl/7u839E
