Brain game raises £13,000 for nurses

Some 150 business people took part in Marie Curie Cancer Care’s annual Brain Game event, held at Jurys Inn hotel in central Milton Keynes. The evening raised £13,000, which will help to provide almost 660 hours of nursing across Milton Keynes.

TV presenter Julia Bradbury, who hosts the BBC Watchdog programme, acted as quizmaster. Other rounds were hosted by celebrities including Star Wars actor Rusty Goffe, magician Matthew Duggan, Team GB triathlete Holly Avil and TV presenter Kevin Harris.

Cllr Jan Lloyd, Mayor of Milton Keynes, and local Marie Curie nurse Liz Haycock also presented questions to the 11 teams.

The winning company was PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, who are the unbeaten winners of the last two years.

Jackie Bradshaw (pictured) , assurance partner at the firm’s Milton Keynes office, said: “PricewaterhouseCoopers was delighted to support Marie Curie Cancer Care again this year. It is a very worthwhile event and a lot of fun, made even better by winning the title for a second time. We will look forward to returning next year to defend our title.”
