They took part in the Stock Exchange Challenge, organised by business advisers Grant Thornton in aid of Leukaemia Research. The event took place at a dinner held at Jury’s Inn Hotel in Central Milton Keynes. Guests took part in a quiz based on the history of the UK financial markets and the London Stock Exchange in particular.
Grant Thornton also organised an auction, with lots including a sailing day, a helicopter flying lesson and tickets for the Royal Albert Hall.
The Stock Exchange Challenge marks a long-standing association between Grant Thornton and Leukaemia Research. Last year the firm’s partners and staff took part in a 1,500 mile bicycle journey to Grant Thornton’s offices around the country on a three-seater bicycle, raising £25,000.
Matthew Turner, partner at the Milton Keynes office, said: “Corporate responsibility is about much more than raising money for good causes. It is about offering people a great place to work, conducting business with integrity, respecting our environment and supporting our community.”
