The channel will be a general entertainment channel with content of both local and global interest.
Chief executive Jawad Siddiqui (pictured) said: “This promises to be the start of something quite special. We will and hope to attain the support of the city and surrounding area, MKTV is about Liberating communications, we intend to engage with our diverse communities both intellectually and emotionally, every voice counts.
“This has been a tremendous challenge to deliver the channel and not without set-backs – and as we move forward the quality of programs and services will get better and better, no city in the world can achieve great heights without a strong media presence.”
The channel begins broadcasting at 6am on February 19 with a live transmission of The Little Breakfast Show.
