Businesses from Central Bedfordshire and beyond are invited to explore how to turn sustainability ideas into real-world action at a regional event hosted by the Green Business Network and Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship at Cranfield University.
The event — From Inspiration to Action: Making Sustainability Work — takes place on Tuesday 2 December at the CMRI Gallery, Cranfield University. It will bring together academics, entrepreneurs and business leaders who are driving sustainable innovation across sectors.
Speakers include Professor Miying Yang, Professor in Sustainability at the Cranfield School of Management; Ed Robinson, Head of Sustainability at Wells & Co; Jon Thornes MBE, environmental entrepreneur and founder of Cool Milk; and Datis Gol, Director of Bucks Star Beer in Milton Keynes.
The day begins with a welcome from Professor Stephanie Hussels and Dr Zimu Xu, followed by a keynote from Professor Yang titled Towards a Circular Economy: From Words to Action. A panel discussion will follow, exploring how businesses can embed circular economy principles and sustainability-led growth into their operations.
Attendees can enjoy a Festive Green Team Quiz, networking lunch, and the chance to connect with like-minded professionals passionate about environmental responsibility.
The event runs from 9.00am to 2.00pm, with registration from 9.00am. Tickets are free for first-time attendees.
The Green Business Network, supported by the Bettany Centre, hosts quarterly events designed to help organisations collaborate, share expertise, and accelerate their sustainability journey. Annual membership costs £499 and includes entry to all events.
