Milton Keynes businesses are being urged to come forward as sponsors for the city’s largest International Women’s Day celebration, as organisers look to expand support for women and girls locally.
The International Women’s Day Milton Keynes event will take place on Friday 6 March 2026 at The Ridgeway Centre, bringing together more than 500 business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, charities and students for a day focused on equality, leadership and local action.
The annual event has become a key fixture in the city’s business calendar. Last year’s celebration attracted a strong turnout and generated thousands of pounds to support women-focused initiatives. Organisers say sponsorship will be essential in helping the 2026 event extend its reach and impact even further.
International Women’s Day is recognised globally as a moment to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements. In Milton Keynes, the event also plays a practical role by connecting the business community with projects that improve opportunities for women and girls locally.
Sponsors are not just backing an event, but helping fund initiatives that respond to real need, from tackling period poverty to improving access to services, education and support networks for women and young people across the city.
Around 400 attendees are expected on the day, including senior decision-makers, entrepreneurs, innovators and community leaders. Sponsors will gain exposure to a highly engaged audience through event branding, digital promotion, social media coverage and press activity.
Amanda Wright, Women in Enterprise committee member, owner of Milton Keynes Business & Brand agency Yellowyoyo, and part of the IWDMK core committee, said the event gives businesses a chance to turn values into action.
“International Women’s Day Milton Keynes is about doing something tangible,” said Amanda. “Sponsorship allows local businesses to support women and girls in our own community, while also standing visibly for equality and opportunity. It’s a powerful way to show leadership that goes beyond just words.”
Funds raised through sponsorship help support grassroots organisations making a difference in Milton Keynes. One example is Girl Pack, a volunteer-led charity founded by two local teenagers to tackle period poverty by providing free sanitary products.
As demand increased during the cost-of-living crisis, funding enabled Girl Pack to redesign its website, improving usability and helping people find support more quickly across the city.
A range of sponsorship packages are available, including Headline Partner, Gold Partner and Silver Partner options. Benefits include on-stage recognition, branding across event materials, digital promotion and press mentions, with opportunities tailored to suit different business goals.
The event runs from 9.30am to 2.30pm on Friday 6 March 2026 at The Ridgeway Centre, Milton Keynes MK12 5TH.
