Business leaders and entrepreneurs from across Milton Keynes will gather next month for the latest City Breakfast Club, with a programme centred on helping businesses communicate their value more effectively.

Taking place on 6 May 2026 at YMCA, Central Milton Keynes, the event will bring together members of the local business community for a morning of insight, networking and discussion.

Hosted by Jacqui Gudgion, Partner at Mercer & Hole, the session will feature guest speakers from Yellowyoyo and Willen Hospice, combining commercial insight with a strong community focus.

Amanda Wright of Yellowyoyo will lead the main talk, exploring why some businesses that appear strong on paper still struggle to connect with their audience. Her session will focus on the gap between simply explaining what a business does and helping customers understand why it matters.

Drawing on her experience working with brands to refine their positioning, Amanda will outline how aligning a clear value proposition with a compelling story can help businesses become more credible, memorable and distinctive in competitive markets.

Amanda said: “Many businesses can clearly explain what they do, but that doesn’t always translate into real connection. The difference often lies in how well they communicate why it matters.

“When you bring your value proposition and your story together, everything becomes clearer — not just for your audience, but for your team as well. That clarity builds trust and helps businesses stand out in a way that feels authentic rather than forced.”

The event will also spotlight Willen Hospice’s upcoming Midnight Moo, one of Milton Keynes’ best-known fundraising events. Taking place on 20 June, the Midnight Moo is a 5 or 10-mile sponsored walk starting at 10pm from Middleton Hall, bringing the community together in a fun, high-energy atmosphere to raise vital funds for local patient care.

Jacqui Gudgion, Partner at Mercer & Hole and host of the City Breakfast Club, said: “The Breakfast Club continues to provide a valuable space for businesses in Milton Keynes to come together, share ideas and gain practical insight.

“It’s also important that we use these events to highlight the organisations making a real difference locally. Willen Hospice is a vital part of the community, and initiatives like the Midnight Moo show how businesses and individuals can come together to support it.”

The City Breakfast Club has established itself as a regular fixture in the Milton Keynes business calendar, offering early-morning events designed to combine meaningful content with informal networking.

The event will run from 7:30am to 9:00am at YMCA, 1 North Sixth Street, Milton Keynes (MK9 2NR).
