Food producer Cranswick Convenience Foods is bringing together business and community in Milton Keynes with its annual Family Fun Day, aiming to raise more than £10,000 for homelessness charity UnityMK.

The event, now in its fifth year, takes place on Sunday 7 September at Middleton Pavilion, Worrelle Avenue. Visitors can expect food stalls, games, arts and crafts, cakes, fairground rides and entertainment between 11am–3pm.

Alongside the activities, Cranswick will host its own stall highlighting career opportunities in the food sector and the company’s work in supporting local charities and employment initiatives.

Sam Pearl, site director at Cranswick Convenience Foods in Milton Keynes, said the company was “proud of our long-standing partnership with UnityMK. For over four years we have contributed £84,000 in donations and provided volunteering support. We hope our community partnership can be a catalyst for other local businesses to do the same and help reduce homelessness in Milton Keynes.”

UnityMK reports that 1 in 93 people in Milton Keynes are experiencing homelessness — a 43% increase in the past year. The charity supports around 42 people each weekday through its crisis centre and has seen a sharp rise in mental health challenges among its guests.

Ria House, fundraising manager at UnityMK, said: “Our services are a lifeline for people struggling with homelessness. Cranswick’s support, from offering jobs and volunteering hours to raising vital funds, shows how businesses can play a direct role in changing lives.”

Cranswick has offered permanent roles to 12 people referred by UnityMK and its employees completed 350 volunteering hours in 2024/25, supporting the charity’s winter night shelter and other community projects.

This year’s Family Fun Day is supported by lead sponsor Stonegrove Refrigeration.
