An Olney-founded landscaping supplier has won two BALI National Landscape Awards for its customer service and its work as an employer.
George Davies Turf & Stone received National Awards in the Supplier Exceptional Service and Employer Excellence: Turnover Over £2.5 million categories.
The company, which became part of Northamptonshire-based Harrowden earlier this year, was founded by George Davies at his father’s farm in Olney in 2001.
It expanded into St Albans in 2009 and acquired Landscape Supplies Herts in 2024, broadening its range beyond turf to include topsoil, decking, paving and aggregates.
George Davies, founder and managing director of George Davies Turf & Stone, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won two BALI National Awards. To be recognised for the service we provide to our customers and the way we support our team makes this particularly special.
“Exceptional service doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from having great people who care about what they do, understand our customers and are prepared to go the extra mile to make their lives easier.
“Equally, we know that if we want our team to give their best, we have a responsibility to create an environment where people feel valued, supported and able to develop.
“These awards belong to everyone across George Davies Turf & Stone. I’m incredibly proud of what the team achieves every day and it means a great deal to have that recognised by our own industry.”
The Olney company is among the National Award winners invited to the 50th anniversary BALI National Landscape Awards ceremony at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London on December 4.
The Principal Awards, Special Awards and Grand Award will be announced during the ceremony.
