A Milton Keynes law firm has introduced a new employee engagement platform as part of its ongoing investment in staff wellbeing and workplace culture.

EMW, which has offices in Milton Keynes, London, Northampton and Watford, has partnered with fellow Milton Keynes business Incentivesmart to launch a reward and recognition platform for its employees.

The initiative builds on a series of measures EMW has introduced in recent years, including flexible working, a work-from-anywhere policy and a shorter working day. The new platform provides a central hub where employees can receive recognition, take part in wellbeing and learning activities, earn reward points and access company updates.

James Geary, Managing Partner at EMW, said employee engagement remained an important priority for the business.

“These are all fundamentals,” he said. “For example, EMW supports flexible working, and we have a work-from-anywhere policy that allows people to spend some of their year working from other locations. We’ve also recently reduced the length of the working day, which has gone down really well.”

James said partnering with a specialist provider allowed the firm to expand its approach to employee recognition.

“When it comes to employee engagement, reward, recognition and all the positive culture-building stuff that we wanted to achieve, we aren’t experts – we’re a law firm,” he said. “So it made sense to partner with Incentivesmart, the local team with decades of experience in rewarding relationships.”

Employees can earn points through recognition, wellbeing initiatives and learning activities before redeeming them against a wide range of rewards. The platform also supports internal communications, team activities and company updates.

James said the system had been straightforward to introduce and had already received a positive response from staff.

“At EMW, we’re delighted to be collaborating with another local, people-first company,” he said. “Incentivesmart is based in Unity Place, which has a lovely vibe. It’s the perfect environment for the business that Richard White has built with great people and a true sense of authenticity.”

Richard White, CEO of Incentivesmart, said the collaboration reflected both organisations’ long-standing presence in Milton Keynes.

“Like EMW, we’ve been part of the MK landscape for a long time, and we love working with local firms,” he said. “We’re proud to share our approach to culture building with others in the business community.”

EMW said early engagement with the platform had been encouraging, with increasing numbers of employees using the system as it becomes embedded across the business. The firm believes investing in employee engagement also reinforces its commitment to workplace culture for both employees and clients.
