Milton Keynes businesses are being invited to examine how they respond to pressure, setbacks and change when world-record eco-adventurer Isaac Kenyon brings his experience of extreme endurance to the city next month.

Kenyon will speak at Riding the Storm: Adventure, Adversity and the Power of Resilience at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone in Central Milton Keynes on Thursday October 15.

Hosted by children’s charity Ride High, the event will explore workplace resilience and how individuals and teams can adapt when circumstances become difficult.

Kenyon is an endurance athlete, scientist and international keynote speaker whose challenges have included rowing oceans, swimming seas and completing an Ironman wearing a 15kg weighted vest. He has also spoken openly about his experience of burnout and mental health difficulties.

He uses those experiences to work with organisations on resilience, leadership, wellbeing and performance under pressure. His speaking work has included organisations such as the UN, BBC, Adidas and Accenture.

For employers, the Milton Keynes event is intended to take those lessons beyond extreme adventure and into the workplace, looking at how teams respond to uncertainty, maintain confidence after setbacks and adapt to change.

Kenyon is also a trustee of mental health charity Mind in Mid Herts. His re-election as a trustee was confirmed at the charity’s 2024 annual meeting.

Ride High works with vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people, using horses to help develop confidence, resilience and wider life skills.

All proceeds from the event will support the charity’s work with vulnerable young people. Tickets include a welcome drink and light buffet.
