EMW has completed its merger with Penman Sedgwick, bringing the Hertfordshire-based firm into its network and extending its reach across several regional centres.
The deal, which took effect on 1 April, sees Penman Sedgwick join EMW’s existing offices in Milton Keynes, Northampton, Watford, London and Brighton. The combined firm will continue to offer legal services to clients across these locations.
Penman Sedgwick, established in 1836, has operated in Watford and the surrounding area for nearly two centuries. Its integration adds to EMW’s presence in Hertfordshire while broadening the range of services available to clients.
James Geary, managing partner at EMW, said the merger would strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver advice across a wider base. “This merger is an exciting milestone that enhances our ability to deliver robust, results driven advice with broader reach and deeper expertise,” he said.

Clients will continue to work with the same teams, with no disruption to ongoing matters. However, they will now have access to a wider pool of expertise across the combined firm.
The merger brings together two firms that said they share a similar approach to client service, with an emphasis on clear and practical advice.
