A Buckinghamshire charity has partnered with a global consultancy to support businesses employing working parents of neurodivergent children.

Autism Early Support (AES) has joined forces with Salusphere Global, a consultancy specialising in health, safety and wellbeing training, to expand access to The Parent’s Portal. The resource hub is now available as part of Salusphere’s wider services, which also include consulting, training and software.

The partnership comes as around 400,000 children in the UK are on a waiting list for an autism or ADHD diagnosis, while an estimated 60,000 autistic children are persistently absent from school. This “lost learning” has a significant impact on working parents.

Research published by Ambitious About Autism in March 2025 found that:

  • Parents have had to give up work, use foodbanks and claim benefits as a result of their autistic children missing out on education.

  • 90% of parents surveyed said their child’s lost learning had negatively impacted their personal or professional life, with one in ten losing their job as a result.

  • 40% said their marriage, relationship or partnership had come under strain, and nearly half reported that siblings had also been affected.

“By integrating the AES Parent’s Portal into our suite of services, we’re expanding our mission—supporting not just compliance and safety, but the whole person,” said Ayrtam Ryall, director of Salusphere Global. “Working parents of neurodivergent children face unique challenges and this partnership equips businesses to provide tools for equitable support.”

Sarah Sweet-Rowley, chief executive of AES, added: “Every day we talk to parents who are juggling their work and home life. It’s a constant source of stress and they don’t know where to turn for guidance and support. Through our partnership with Salusphere Global, we’re delighted to support working parents and help them balance work and family life.”

As the recognised partner, Salusphere Global will promote and deliver The Parent’s Portal to organisations across sectors, helping to strengthen corporate wellbeing strategies and meet the evolving needs of diverse workforces.
