Stowe School has appointed former Northamptonshire cricketer Graeme White and Buckinghamshire-born Chloe Hill to senior roles in its Stowe School cricket programme from September.
White will become Director of Cricket at the Buckinghamshire school, while Hill has been appointed Head of Girls’ Cricket. Both arrive with experience of playing and coaching within the professional and county game.
White is a former Stowe pupil who progressed through Northamptonshire’s pathway before a professional career spanning almost two decades with Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
The former spin bowler represented England at Under-19 level and was part of the Northamptonshire side that won the T20 Blast in 2016. He also played for Welsh Fire in The Hundred.
White retired from professional cricket in 2023 as Northamptonshire’s leading T20 wicket-taker. He subsequently moved into coaching and is currently Second XI Coach and Spin Bowling Coach at the county.
His new position will see him oversee the development of the Stowe School cricket programme, including support for pupils seeking to progress into county, regional and professional cricket.
Hill, meanwhile, has been appointed to lead girls’ cricket across the school.
Born in Buckinghamshire, the wicketkeeper-batter has represented Buckinghamshire, Worcestershire, Central Sparks, Southern Vipers and South East Stars, as well as London Spirit in The Hundred. She also became the first woman to play in the Home Counties Premier League for Tring Park Cricket Club.
She currently plays for Northamptonshire Steelbacks Women and has combined her playing career with a growing range of coaching roles.
An ECB Advanced Coach, Hill has worked with the Buckinghamshire girls’ pathway at Under-16 and Under-18 level and is Assistant Coach of the England Visually Impaired men’s team. Her previous coaching experience also includes Loughborough’s Diploma in Sporting Excellence programme and school cricket, most recently at The Leys in Cambridge.
Hill will be responsible for developing participation and performance in girls’ cricket at Stowe, including pathways for players seeking to progress further in the game.
The appointments add further professional cricket experience to the Stowe School cricket programme. Former pupils of the school include England opening batter Ben Duckett.
