Horizon Radio has strengthened its presence in Milton Keynes by launching on 105.5 FM, opening new opportunities for local advertisers and community partners.
The independent station, which began broadcasting from its Midsummer Place studios last year, has grown rapidly across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. It is already available on 104.7 FM and DAB in Northampton and on DAB in Leighton Buzzard.
Managing director Chris Gregg said the expansion was “a huge step” for the business. “Our ambition has always been to create a truly local station that reflects Milton Keynes’ energy, spirit and creativity. Launching on 105.5 FM allows us to reach more listeners and give local businesses an even bigger platform to connect with their customers.”
The station’s commercial strategy is built on combining music, local news and community content with tailored advertising opportunities for regional businesses. Horizon’s schedule features well-known presenters including Tony Dibbin and Emma Saint, as well as regular coverage of grassroots sport, live music and cultural events.
For Milton Keynes, the move strengthens the city’s radio market and offers a new channel for companies seeking to reach local audiences. Horizon also plans to grow its partnerships with event organisers and charities, using its platform to support city-wide initiatives.
Listeners can now access the station on 105.5 FM and DAB in Milton Keynes, in Northampton on 104.7 FM and DAB, in Leighton Buzzard on DAB, and nationwide online, via app and smart speaker.
