Milton Keynes-based Mainmark UK has secured a place on a major national rail framework, positioning the business to support infrastructure delivery across Britain’s railway network.
The ground engineering specialist, headquartered in Stacey Bushes, will work with Balfour Beatty as part of Network Rail’s Control Period 7 (CP7) programme. The five-year investment cycle, which runs until 2029, will see up to £45bn spent on maintaining, renewing and upgrading rail infrastructure across the UK.
As a result, Mainmark will contribute to a range of projects designed to improve network reliability, safety and performance. These include maintenance works, emergency response, and small-scale civil engineering schemes delivered under the framework.

The appointment comes at a time when rail infrastructure is under increasing pressure from heavier freight demand, extreme weather and long-term ground movement. These factors can lead to subsidence beneath tracks, platforms and supporting structures, creating operational risks and impacting service performance.
Mainmark specialises in ground stabilisation and re-levelling solutions designed to address these challenges with minimal disruption. Its Teretek® resin injection technology strengthens weak ground and fills voids beneath infrastructure without the need for excavation, allowing work to be completed while rail services remain operational wherever possible.
The company’s methods are already used across rail environments to support track alignment, stabilise platforms, strengthen bridge structures and improve ground conditions in depots and rail yards.
Importantly, the CP7 framework will involve a wide range of works, including geotechnical repairs, drainage clearance, bridge maintenance and structural improvements. Building works such as roof repairs, canopy refurbishments and asbestos removal also form part of the programme.
