The Milton Keynes Comedy Festival will headline the city’s summer events calendar this year, with MyMiltonKeynes BID confirming a four-day programme designed to strengthen the visitor economy and increase city centre footfall.
Taking place from 9–12 July 2026, the Milton Keynes Comedy Festival is a partnership between MyMiltonKeynes BID and The Comedy Cow. Organisers expect it to attract thousands of residents and visitors, supporting city centre businesses and increasing hospitality spend across Milton Keynes.
Venues across central Milton Keynes will take part, including MK Gallery, centre:mk, BrewDog, Blossom Room, Revolución de Cuba, Midsummer Tap, Merkur and The Residence Bar & Kitchen. As a result, the programme is designed to extend dwell time, encourage multi-venue visits and drive city centre footfall throughout the day and evening.
Headline acts already confirmed include Ed Byrne, Joe Pasquale, Sara Pascoe, Simon Brodkin, Rhys James, Nina Benjamin, Matt Richardson, Ria Lina, Felicity Ward, Fiona Allen, Darren Harriott, Hal Cruttenden, Brennan Reece, Tez Ilyas and Eshaan Akbar. Further acts will be announced in the coming months.
In addition to stand-up, the Milton Keynes Comedy Festival will feature alternative and experiential shows such as John Robertson’s Dark Room, Noise Next Door, CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation, Wifi Wars and A Star Wars Improv Show. Consequently, organisers expect audiences to move between venues, increasing hospitality spend and supporting the wider visitor economy.
Jill Farnsworth, chief executive at MyMiltonKeynes BID, said: “This festival is about supporting our businesses and strengthening the local economy. By working with venues and hospitality operators, we are creating a city-wide event that drives footfall, boosts spend and showcases Milton Keynes as a vibrant and welcoming destination.”
A spokesperson for The Comedy Cow said: “Milton Keynes has a strong appetite for live events and an excellent mix of venues. This partnership enables us to deliver a high-quality programme while creating meaningful commercial opportunities for local businesses. We are proud to support a project that will bring new audiences into the city and contribute to its long-term growth.”
Tickets go on sale in March 2026. Meanwhile, full programme details and business engagement opportunities will be shared via @MKCityCentre and @TheComedyCow in the coming weeks.
For Milton Keynes city centre businesses, the Milton Keynes Comedy Festival represents a coordinated effort to increase city centre footfall, drive hospitality spend and reinforce the city’s position as a leading regional destination within the visitor economy.
