Business owners considering a future business exit are being invited to a free event at Stadium MK next month focused on building value and preparing for a sale or succession.
Network & Learn: The Art of Exit takes place on Thursday October 1 from 9.30am until 1pm and is aimed at owners and directors of established SMEs who want to plan more deliberately for the next stage of their business.
The session is being delivered jointly by the South Midlands Growth Hub, YellowYoYo, TC Group and EMW Law. It will examine how business owners can strengthen their companies ahead of an eventual sale, succession or other business exit.
Topics will include how business, brand and marketing strategies can affect an eventual exit, alongside the different routes available to owners and the legal groundwork that should be in place before a transaction or succession process begins.
The event will also consider how AI tools can support exit planning and how owners can identify the factors that influence business value and marketability.
Organisers say the session is intended to help participants understand how an exit strategy can be built into wider business planning rather than being left until an owner is ready to step away.
That can include preparing a company for potential buyers or investors, putting more formal succession planning in place or making the business less dependent on its current owner.
The event is particularly aimed at established owner-managed businesses, companies that are growing or scaling, and SME owners considering succession planning or a future change of ownership.
Participants will be encouraged to consider their preferred business exit route and the steps needed to make the company more attractive to future buyers or investors.
Network & Learn: The Art of Exit will be held at Stadium MK, Stadium Way, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, MK1 1ST. Attendance is free. Book your place here.
