Milton Keynes College Group has been named the 10th most inclusive workplace in the UK, securing a place in the Top 100 Inclusive UK Employers Index 2025 compiled by the National Centre for Diversity.
The recognition places MK College among a small group of organisations nationally acknowledged for building inclusive cultures that support staff and learners at every level. Importantly, the index highlights employers that demonstrate measurable commitment rather than policy-led statements alone.
Announcing the 2025 list, the National Centre for Diversity said the index exists to recognise “outstanding efforts in fostering diversity and inclusion” and to celebrate organisations that actively commit to inclusive working environments.
At MK College, the award reflects sustained work across teaching, leadership and operational teams. According to Arv Kaushal, head of people development and EDI at the group, the recognition belongs to the whole organisation rather than one department.
“This is recognition of the commitment shown at every level to ensuring staff and students feel visible, valued and included,” said Arv. “At a time when equity, diversity and inclusion policies are being challenged in some quarters, it is important to recognise what genuine inclusion looks like in practice.”
He added that an inclusive work culture directly supports performance, retention and long-term organisational stability. “EDI is about making people feel seen and heard as individuals. As a result, they are happier, more effective at work and more likely to stay. Recruitment and retention matter to every employer, and this is no different for us.”
The ranking also reinforces the group’s position as a major employer in the Milton Keynes area. MK College employs staff across further education, specialist training and prison education, supporting learners from entry level through to higher-level technical and professional qualifications.
Meanwhile, the organisation is actively expanding its workforce. Current recruitment includes roles across motor vehicle, engineering and prison services, alongside teaching, support and professional services positions.
