A new single inspired by personal grief is set to raise funds for families affected by baby and pregnancy loss. Hello/Goodbye, written and performed by Milton Keynes-based entrepreneur Sarah Brason, will be released on 6 October, with all proceeds going to the charities Sands and the Beyond Boundaries Foundation.
Brason, a mother, creative entrepreneur and founder of a personal branding consultancy, has drawn on her own experience of child loss to create the track, which reflects themes of grief, hope and healing. The single will be launched at Voice 4 Good – Music that Makes a Difference, a live event at the Delta Marriott Hotel in Milton Keynes, where Brason will deliver a keynote speech and perform the track publicly for the first time. The evening will also include guest performances and a three-course dinner.
Funds raised on the night, alongside proceeds from the single, will support Sands, the UK’s leading pregnancy and baby loss charity, and the Beyond Boundaries Foundation, which provides access to complementary therapies for individuals facing physical, emotional or mental health challenges. The event will feature a silent auction and presentations from both charities.
“Grief and child loss remain taboo topics, despite one in four pregnancies ending in loss,” said Brason. “This silence leaves many parents feeling isolated. I’ve spoken on BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio 5 Live to raise awareness and let others know they are not alone. This project is not about me – it’s about giving voice to grief and shining a light on life after loss.”
Hello/Goodbye was produced in collaboration with Ramzi of RDS Music, Isy Clarke of Grange Farm Studio and Alex Tranter. It will be available to stream and download across all major platforms from 6 October.
