NatWest is relocating its Milton Keynes Accelerator to Cranfield University’s MK:U Innovation Hub later this year, bringing its business support programme into the city’s developing innovation district.

The move will see the Accelerator based at Cranfield University’s city centre campus, where NatWest says entrepreneurs will have access to larger co-working facilities, closer links to academic expertise and research, and an expanded programme of workshops and networking opportunities.

The NatWest Accelerator has operated in Milton Keynes for almost a decade, providing support for entrepreneurs and growing businesses through coaching, mentoring, workspace and peer networking.

Debbie Lewis, Accelerator Community Manager at NatWest, said: “This move represents an exciting new chapter for the Milton Keynes Accelerator. By partnering with Cranfield University and embedding our programme within the MK:U Innovation Hub, we can offer even greater value to entrepreneurs, through improved facilities, enhanced learning opportunities, and stronger connections to innovation and talent.”

The relocation reflects a partnership between NatWest and Cranfield University aimed at strengthening support for startups and established businesses looking to grow across Milton Keynes and the surrounding region.

Kristian Mackie, Head of Innovation at Cranfield University, said: “We are delighted to welcome the NatWest Accelerator to the MK:U Innovation Hub. This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to support innovation, skills development, and business growth in the region. Together, we will create more opportunities for entrepreneurs to thrive.”

NatWest said businesses joining the programme will continue to receive free access to coaching, co-working space, peer-to-peer support, expert-led workshops and a network of mentors and industry specialists.

The programme is open to both NatWest customers and non-customers, with applications already open for co-working space at the new location ahead of the move, which is expected to take place this autumn.

NatWest operates 15 Accelerator hubs across the UK alongside an online community for business owners unable to attend in person.
