Milton Keynes will host Tech Week 2025 from 22 to 26 September, a city-wide celebration of innovation, robotics and artificial intelligence that promises hands-on experiences and high-profile collaborations.
The week opens at Bletchley Park — the historic birthplace of early computing — and features a programme covering AI in everyday life, motorsport, lifelong learning and entrepreneurial growth. Highlights include a Dragons’ Den-style pitch event bringing together local entrepreneurs and investors, and the Smart City Robotics Competition in centre:MK, where university teams from across Europe will tackle real-world challenges such as delivering coffee, packing goods, assisting in homes and operating drones.
Headline partners for the week include The Open University, Santander UK and Cranfield University, supported by Red Bull Advanced Technologies, British Business Bank, HAYS, Bletchley Park, HMGCC and Aiimi.
Shanika Mahendran, Cabinet Member for Planning and Placemaking, said the event celebrates Milton Keynes’ journey to becoming “a national centre of excellence for technology and AI” while inspiring the next generation of innovators.
Professor Enrico Motta of The Open University added that MK Tech Week offers “another exciting collaboration opportunity” for a city already at the forefront of innovation.
Milton Keynes continues to stand out as a tech powerhouse. Its economy now exceeds £13.3 billion, with more than 2,400 tech businesses generating around £3.4 billion in GVA, and one in three local jobs in the tech sector. Last year’s AI Festival attracted more than 2,000 attendees — this year’s week is set to build significantly on that success.
