Milton Keynes businesses have just days left to sign up for the Franklins £50 Challenge, an initiative that helps charity teams turn a small investment into significant funds for good causes across the region.
The £50 Challenge, organised by Franklins Solicitors LLP, begins on 23 February and runs until 29 May, with an awards and celebration event taking place in June. Businesses form a team, select one of 12 charity partners and receive £50 to grow into as much money as possible over three months.
So far, 45 teams have registered. However, organisers are aiming for at least 60 teams this year. In 2025, 57 teams took part and collectively raised nearly £60,000 through the £50 Challenge.
Charity partners for 2026 include MK Hospital Charity, The Lewis Foundation, Rainbows Hospice, Medical Detection Dogs, Cynthia Spencer Hospice, Northampton Hope Centre, MK Snap, Action 4 Youth, The Air Ambulance Service, The Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation, Spinal Injuries Association and MK Community Foundation.
Andrea Smith, partner at Franklins Solicitors LLP, said: “The Franklins £50 Challenge proves that you do not need a large budget to make an impact. The £50 Challenge gives charity teams the freedom to think creatively, work together and generate real momentum for causes that matter locally.
“We have seen teams transform £50 into thousands of pounds. Just as importantly, businesses tell us they value the team building, the CSR benefits and the chance to raise their profile while supporting charities across Milton Keynes and the wider region. With only a few days left to sign up, we would encourage as many organisations as possible to get involved and help us reach our 60-team target.”
The £50 Challenge is open to businesses of all sizes, from sole traders and start-ups to established corporates. In addition to raising vital funds, it offers practical benefits including stronger team cohesion, engaging social media content, enhanced brand awareness and expanded professional networks.
With the deadline fast approaching, businesses are being urged to register now and secure their place. The campaign strapline remains: Start small. Grow big. Make a difference.
