Women Leaders UK is marking a decade of celebrating and empowering inspirational women across Milton Keynes — and is now inviting new trustees to help steer its future.
Founded in 2015 by Jan Flawn CBE, the volunteer-led charity has recognised more than 1,000 women through its Women Leaders Awards. Beyond the awards, it has grown into a network offering mentoring, allyship, and partnership programmes that promote gender equality and inclusion across sectors where women remain underrepresented.
As the charity embarks on its next phase, it is seeking expressions of interest from individuals keen to join its Board of Trustees. The recruitment follows a strategic review and a period of transition, as several long-serving trustees complete their terms.
Chair Dr Julie Mills OBE DL said: “Our first ten years have been about recognition and inspiration. The next ten are about deepening our impact, creating real change through partnership, mentoring and advocacy. This is a wonderful opportunity for people who share our passion to help shape what comes next.”
Women Leaders UK is particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in finance — to take on the role of Treasurer — as well as those with expertise in quality and compliance or technology.
The charity’s renewed vision focuses on strengthening partnerships, expanding its regional reach, and deepening its community impact. It continues to be driven by volunteers passionate about creating a more inclusive working world.
Expressions of interest to join the Board can be submitted by 7 November via the charity’s online form. Formal applications will close shortly after, with interviews taking place at the end of November.
