The Open University has launched a three-part webinar series designed to inspire and support women entrepreneurs as part of its Open Business Creators Fund initiative.
Delivered in partnership with NatWest and the Department for Work and Pensions, the free sessions will take place throughout October and November, exploring key themes of confidence, capability, and connection for anyone looking to start or grow a business.
Each session features leading entrepreneurs, industry experts, and OU academics sharing practical insights and personal experiences.
The series begins with Confidence on Tuesday 21 October (12:00–13:00), featuring Mags Byrne, Entrepreneur in Residence at The Open University, and Stef Genesis, who will discuss their pioneering journey in the esports industry. OU Business School Senior Lecturer Liz Moody will lead a workshop on developing and refining business ideas.
Capabilities, on Wednesday 5 November (12:00–13:00), focuses on understanding audiences and managing finances. Entrepreneur Ronke Maye will share her experience of building client relationships, while NatWest experts will explain how to manage costs and project revenue effectively.
The final session, Connections, takes place on Tuesday 18 November (19:00–20:00). Panellists Soyna Barlow, Justice Williams, and Claudine Reid MBE, alongside OU Entrepreneur in Residence Russell Dalgleish, will discuss real-world lessons on networking, visibility, and business growth.
The webinar series is open to all, with registration available via the Open Business Creators website.
The events form part of The Open University’s ongoing commitment to inclusive entrepreneurship and follow the launch of the Open Business Creators Fund, which offers grants of up to £2,500 to women and those who identify as women across the UK.
