Unity Place is set to play a central role in Milton Keynes’ first-ever Tech Week, running from 22–26 September.

The landmark building opposite Milton Keynes Central station, home to Santander UK’s headquarters, will host a series of events highlighting innovation, diversity, and the future of work. Tech Week is organised by Milton Keynes City Council and begins with an opening at Bletchley Park, the historic birthplace of modern computing.

Unity Place’s co-working hub, x+why, will stage a number of activities, including MKGN x All Flows – Tech Week Special on 24 September, featuring free workshops and talks from digital innovators, and MK Girl Talks Tech on 25 September, an inclusive panel on diversity and accessibility in technology.

Also on 24 September, Elevate MK will lead Thriving in the Age of AI: Futureproof Your Career, exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping the world of work.

The week will close on 26 September with Better by Design Live, a Dragons’ Den–style showcase in partnership with Protospace. Ten local tech businesses will present their ideas, with cash prizes awarded for innovation with community impact.

Councillor Shanika Mahendran, Cabinet Member for Planning and Placemaking, said: “With one in three jobs in Milton Keynes in the tech sector, and our city at the heart of the Oxford–Cambridge Growth Corridor, this is a major opportunity to showcase the talent and potential we have here.”

The final evening of Milton Keynes Tech Week will be a Dragons’ Den–style event infused with Protospace’s inclusive, community-powered spirit. Designed not as a contest but as a launchpad for local tech, it will showcase 10 high-potential businesses from Milton Keynes. Cash prizes will be awarded in recognition of ideas with heart and impact.
