Solar energy firm completes sale to US investorOct 07, 2013
Conergy UK & Ireland has completed its sale to Kawa Capital Management, a move that will save dozens of jobs in the UK, said a spokesman.
Based in Central Milton Keynes, Conergy UK & Ireland provides technology and build expertise to the expanding solar sector. It has worked on the UK’s first large solar farm in Nottinghamshire and a wave-shaped rooftop installation at the headquarters of the Nationwide Building Society in Swindon.
Kawa Capital Management has also purchased Conergy’s subsidiaries in Germany, Italy and Australia. The sum paid is undisclosed.
Conergy UK & Ireland managing director Robert Goss, a member of the UK government’s Solar Strategy Taskforce, said: “This is a vote of confidence not only in our service and technical capability but also a vote of confidence in British solar, the sixth biggest market worldwide in 2013.”
