Red Bull apprenticeships offer taste of life in the fast lane

Aug 01, 2018

Three of the successful applicants will work in electronics and the other three in sub-assembly.

Anna Clarke, the college’s head of apprenticeships, said: “For people who are passionate about the sport or about cars in general this is the opportunity of a lifetime.

“Aston Martin Red Bull Racing is at the forefront of motor vehicle technology and for the successful applicants these apprenticeships offer the chance to kick-start their careers with a top employer.”

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing chose to work with Milton Keynes College because of its flexibility in shaping apprenticeships to suit an employer’s needs. The vacancies are expected to be highly sought after.

Electronics apprentice Taylor Smith said: “Joining the apprenticeship scheme is a great alternative to going to university; you learn skills directly related to the job and gain valuable experience at the same time.

"I was offered a place on both the apprenticeship scheme and a university course and although at the time it was a tough decision, I haven’t looked back since.

“The work ethic at Red Bull is second to none which lends itself to a great team environment, your colleagues will make you feel involved and as though you’ve been here for years. I would recommend the programme to anyone thinking of becoming an apprentice – I have been impressed with the quality of training provided by Red Bull and the opportunities I have been given to further develop myself as a person.”
