Print firm is bought by Swedish finishing giantFeb 13, 2013
The firm, based at Knowlhill, has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Plockmatic International AB, one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of document finishing technology.
The deal dramatically expands the two companies’ distribution capacity and product line, said a spokesman.
Morgana will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Plockmatic but will remain at its offices in Milton Keynes with Quen Baum continuing as managing director. The Swedish firm’s chief executive Jan Marstorp will head the new group.
Mr Baum said: “The combined companies and brands will be even stronger in the market and will better serve our customers and staff,.”
Morgana Systems develops and sells off-line document finishing technology through a direct sales force in the UK and a network of distributors around the world. Plockmatic, a major supplier of booklet making systems for the mid-range digital print sector, also manufactures off-line booklet makers and a mail-feeding system.
Plockmatic International is part of Grimaldi Industri Group, a diversified Stockholm-based holding company.
Owner and chief executive Salvatore Grimaldi said: “The acquisition of Morgana gives us access to the product development, technology and distribution capabilities we need to reach more customers all over the world.”
