Parks Trust welcomes new board members

Parks Trust chief executive David Foster said: “The board has to ensure the long-term future for the trust and the city’s parkland so being a trustee is a position of influence and great responsibility, now and for future generations.
 
“We are very lucky to have found new trustees who share a passion for Milton Keynes and its green spaces. They are all local people with a great mix of skills and experience that will further broaden and strengthen our Board’s capabilities.”
 
Each Trustee is a volunteer board member and is appointed for an initial three-year term.
 
BIOGRAPHIES
 
Tanya Butler Has a background in strategic planning and experience in product and service development. She currently works as commercial director at the charity Medicalert Foundation. 
 
Alex Chapman Has lived in Milton Keynes all his life, has a degree in Environmental Management and is studying for a PhD in Geography and Environment at the University of Southampton. He has worked at St Paul’s Catholic School, the Open University, and Virgin Active.
 
Chris Gossop Has served in local and central government, a campaigning organisation, the Town and Country Planning Association and in voluntary roles. Chris is a trustee of the National Energy Foundation and chair of the Two Mile Ash Environmental Group.
 
Zoe Raven Chief executive officer of Acorn Childcare which she started in 1989 and has expanded to nine nurseries. She has worked in Milton Keynes since 1983 has a long-standing interest in environmental issues.
 
Jonathan Silvertown – A professor of Ecology at the Open University with research specialisms in plant ecology and evolution. He is a member of the UK Biodiversity Science Committee and a trustee of the Ecological Continuity Trust. Jonathan has lived in Milton Keynes since 1979.
