Freedom of the City

Under the ancient rules of the city corporation, the freedom holder could claim the right to “drive flocks across London Bridge without payment and set up a market stall in the City without permission.”

His wife Josephine, family and friends were at the Lord Chamberlain’s Court in London’s Guildhall as Mr Chaproniere (pictured) received the award.

A well-known figure in the world of the arts and fund-raising, Mr Chaproniere has masterminded fund raising for many organisations in Milton Keynes and further afield.

He has been associated with the BBC, the Milton Keynes City Orchestra, the Southern Arts Board and the London Bach Orchestra. He was general manager of the Stables Theatre, Wavendon All Music Plan for ten years and is currently a trustee of the organisation.

Recently, Ken became a professional toastmaster and is much in demand at private and commercial events in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
