Saab moves UK headquarters to Cranfield

The firm has left its former base in Luton and moved to offices in Martell House (pictured), on the Cranfield Technology Park.

The relocation is the next step for the company after its sale to Netherlands-based supercar manufacturer Spyker Cars in May. Cranfield University, a leading post-graduate centre for technology, engineering and aerospace, fits well with Saab’s aerospace heritage, said a spokesman.

Saab GB managing director Jonathan Nash said: “We are very excited. Moving into our new head offices is an important milestone in the separation process and for the future of an independent Saab GB.”

Spyker Cars completed the purchase of Saab Automobile in February before finalising the acquisition of Saab GB in May. Mr Nash said the move had led to the recruitment of a new team of staff, the move to Cranfield and the launch of a new Saab 9-5 saloon car.
