Debate focuses on boosting science

The panel includes MPs, technology experts, education specialists and business leaders. They will discuss how to reverse the long-term decline of young people studying science and its impact on technology businesses in the region.

Hosted by the Sparc technology network and Biztech, the business and technology group run by Milton Keynes & North Bucks Chamber of Commerce, it will form part of Milton Keynes Science Festival. Biztech chair Fredi Nonyelu (pictured) said: "We need to develop an effective strategy to engage more young people if we are to fulfil our vision of a thriving technology-led enterprise culture in Milton Keynes."

Grant Seeley, director of investment for Milton Keynes Partnership, said: "If we don’t address this need, we risk companies looking at other business destinations for graduates in the future."
