The foundation has made a substantial investment in the building, which now houses new conference and meeting room facilities, a café and offices.
MKCF chief executive Julia Upton said: “Purchasing Midsummer House has been a fantastic opportunity for MK Community Foundation to continue and develop its support for local voluntary and community organisations in tough economic times, creating a vibrant presence in the heart of our city.”
After the opening, guests toured Midsummer House to see the new facilities.
The new conference suite and meeting rooms will complement the conference facilities already offered in Acorn House, the sister building in Midsummer Boulevard next door to Midsummer House.
Sir Henry said: “MK Community Foundation is about bringing people and organisations together, they provide the connections for those that can give to those in need.”
