Vinyl aims to enhance town centre shop windows

Premises across the town centre (pictured is a new look at 13 Market Square)are being brightened up with vinyl cover-ups which are designed to spruce up unsightly locations whilst also promoting town centre activities.

The vinyls are themed to represent the shopping, food and drink, historical experience, arts and culture in Northampton. They each have a cut out port hole designed into the vinyl to let light into the units and also enable potential interested parties to peek into the shops to see the space available.

The Northampton town centre BID would now like to hear from landlords and agents willing to give the BID permission to dress their empty units with window vinyl’s whilst waiting for new tenants to move in.

If you are interested please contact Chris Barker from the BID team at info@northamptonbid.co.uk or call 01604 837766.

The project is part of a series of BID activities to make a visible difference to the town centre.

Northampton BID has also installed new litter in the town centre.

The BID has this month funded 15 new bins, part of its commitment to creating a clean, tidy and litter free environment for visitors and businesses.

BID chair Jessica D’Aulerio, owner of town centre print firm Tangerine Red, said: “These new litter bins will make a real difference to our streets and our overall town centre environment, which is a key objective for the BID.

“They come hot on the heels of our recent programme of window cleaning and vinyl installation, a programme of improvements designed to enhance the appearance of empty shop fronts in the town centre and improve the ambience of the streets whilst the premises are waiting to be occupied.”

This is the second phase of litter bin replacement and installations, part of a series of activities to make a visible difference to the town centre
