Theatre targets business audience

The Grove Theatre will house audiences of up to 780 and will stage drama, dance, musicals, pantomime, opera and comedy.

It also plans to place a large emphasis on the South Bedfordshire community. The theatre, which will be managed by Leisure Connection on behalf of South Bedfordshire District Council, will also offer a fully equipped function suite for business meetings, conferences and receptions.

General manager Jo Ditch said: “The Grove Theatre has been built for the local community and that includes the businesses in the area. We have created a variety of exciting opportunities for local businesses to be involved with the theatre and to work with us.”

Those include corporate membership, sponsorship of educational events or high profile areas in the building, she added.

The Grove Theatre already has its first corporate sponsor – The Old Palace Lodge Hotel. Its managing director, Martyn Murphy, said: “It is very exciting to be supporting The Grove Theatre. It is encouraging to see such forward-thinking developments in Dunstable and I look forward to a close working relationship with this project.”
