Stephen Kimbell (pictured) will continue to work with Kimbells LLP as a consultant but has opted to develop his other business and academic interests.
Mr Kimbell founded the firm in 1986. His fellow founding partner Peter Holden will become senior partner, working with chief executive Ian Foster and managing partner Jonathan Hambleton.
“It is very satisfying to see that Kimbells has mirrored the success of Milton Keynes,” said Mr Kimbell. “The firm is enjoying another record year and is a leading player in all of its chosen market sectors.
“After 21 years as senior partner I now want to make time to develop some of my other business and academic interests, although I shall remain closely associated with the firm for the next few years.”
Kimbells has particular expertise in the logistics, motor retail and drinks and hospitality sectors.
A corporate finance specialist, Mr Kimbell is a director of several companies and a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Management at which he lectures on the legal aspects of company directorship to MBA students.
Mr Holden said: “Stephen’s drive and ability have enabled him to lead the firm to its present pre-eminent position. We are very grateful for all he has achieved and very pleased he will continue to work with us as we maintain our development.”
