Funding from the South East England Development Agency has enabled the network, which launched in the city last year, to set up a pilot project for 15 organisations to take the one-day CIEH Level 1 Environmental Awareness course.
Similar initiatives undertaken with Bedfordshire companies have produced significant savings – in some cases up to £30,000 per year. The first course takes place at Bradwell Abbey on February 22.
This training complements GBN’s Resource Efficiency Action Programme, under which businesses in Milton Keynes can receive support for their efforts to cut waste, energy and water use, and to look at how to reduce resources going into processes.
GBN is also waiting confirmation of funding for several other projects within Milton Keynes and North Bucks.
