Electronics firm calls in liquidators

Around 50 workers at the company’s factory in Wymbush were made redundant before Christmas after potential delay on a substantial order and the loss of institutional finance forced the firm to cease trading.

Shareholders appointed Peter Windatt and Gary Pettit, of BRI Business Recovery and Insolvency, as joint liquidators.

Mr Windatt said: “The loss of institutional finance and potential delays on a substantial order left the Company with no alternative but to cease trading. Clearly, this has come as a great shock to the employees with some having over 20 year’s service.”

Radix Micro Devices had been trading for more than 30 years and manufactured rugged hand held computers and portable printers. Its products were designed to meet specific demands of a market that needed to collect data in harsh environments such as mining, forestry and the military.
