Creativity is put on hold

MK Creates organiser Glenn Wynsor had been hoping to stage the awards next month but has delayed the competition until November as he closes in on a major sponsorship deal.

International marketing and advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, which recently opened an office in Milton Keynes, has agreed in principle to be the awards’ major sponsor. The competition had seemed in jeopardy as potential sponsorship failed to materialise.

Mr Wynsor said: "Over the past six months I have tried very hard to get enough sponsorship to fund the event, but despite many promises very little cash has been actual forthcoming, and without it the event just cannot go ahead.

"It’s all a big disappointment after so much work and especially as the powers that be all want Milton Keynes to have a high profile, and particularly in the creative-related sectors."

However, he was delighted at the impending deal with BBH. "They have some exciting ideas. If this does come off it would be a great boost to all those involved."
