Video highlights MK’s tourism appeal

The video produced with support from Milton Keynes Council, shows a family visiting the city and discovering how much there is to do.

The aim of the video is to show the different activities within Milton Keynes that are accessible for a range of age groups. The family of two children, their parents and grandmother come to Milton Keynes and visit a number of different attractions and experiences.

The video begins with the father and daughter trying out wakeboarding, while the mother and son cycle some of the redways. The whole family moves on to Bletchley Park before taking in Milton Keynes Theatre, a football match at MK Dons, a visit to MK Gallery, Gulliver’s Dinosaur Park, MK Museum, thecentre:mk, a trip on the Grand Union Canal and a walk through Campbell Park.

Grandma walks the city centre sculpture trail while the children enjoy indoor skydiving and Mum indulges in some shopping. They end their vsiit with a meal in The Hub.

DMK marketing manager Carys Underwood said: “The video really shows off what Milton Keynes has to offer the leisure market. Sometimes people forget what is on their doorstep but also what is available within the region and Milton Keynes has a huge potential market within just one hour’s drive.

“Encouraging visitors to come to Milton Keynes for a day trip or for a longer break can help strengthen the important visitor economy and shine a light on Milton Keynes both regionally and nationally.”

The video will be viewable on the DMK and MK Council websites, promoted via social media pages, and it will be submitted to the VisitEngland website. DMK is calling on its member organisations, including hotels, attractions and other service providers, to promote the video.
