Van share scheme launches Black Friday cut-price fares

The ViaVan service has been launched by shared transport specialist Via and Mercedes-Benz Vans, whose UK headquarters are in Milton Keynes, in advance of the Christmas period.

It already plans to expand its service to other areas of the city to include locations such as Stadium MK.

On Black Friday tomorrow, riders will be able to use the £1 special fare to go anywhere within the ride-sharing area, which also includes Milton Keynes Central railway station, The Hub and centre:mk and intu Milton Keynes shopping centres.

Passengers can book a shared Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer through the ViaVan app, which utilises Via’s algorithm to route shared rides across Milton Keynes for passengers looking to travel to similar locations.

Milton Keynes is the fourth city launch for ViaVan, following its debut in Amsterdam and London earlier this year and its partnership with Berlin’s public transit authority BerlinerVerkehrsbetriebe.
